Joy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her Master of Social Work degree in 1979 and worked 37 years with chronically and terminally ill patients and their families at Indiana University Hospital, Indianapolis. She has been a Brooke's Place therapist since 2016 and feels privileged to be companioning children, teens, and adults of all ages on their unique grief journeys. While there is great pain in life's losses, Joy believes from her extensive professional experience, as well as from her own experiences, that there is also the potential for great personal growth when we seek to better understand our grief. Joy lives in Indianapolis with her husband Dan and their dog Teddy. She enjoys being with family and friends, working in the yard, visiting Lake Michigan, and playing her traditional and Native American flutes.
