I am a proud born dual citizen of Belize and the United States, and spent my early childhood in Guatemala City. I have been living in Indianapolis since 2006. I am an alumna of the University of Indianapolis, were I obtained a certificate in Pre-Med via the University of Nicosia, Cyprus, Europe, and a BA in Anthropology, with a minor in Chemistry, here at UIndy’s main campus on the Southside of Indianapolis.
I have worked most of my life as a Public Servant, primarily for the IU School of Social Work at IUPUI, the Marion County Public Health Department, Housing Division, and the City of Indianapolis’ Unsafe Building Program. I also have worked in the Early Childhood Education field, not only as a pre-school teacher, but also as a talent acquisition specialist for an Early Ed training center. Additionally, I have completed a number of Public Health Classes as part of my journey towards obtaining my Masters in Public Health degree, as well as completed the “Bridging the Gap Medical Interpreter Course” prior to working as a Spanish/English Interpreter.
I am a mother of two, a volunteer U12 soccer coach, and enjoy traveling and experiencing different cultures. I have a passion for working with and serving children, and I am honored to be part of the Brooke’s Place team!
