Brooke's Place in the Community

Brooke's Place volunteers and outreach staff were hard at work this summer promoting our grief support services at the following events:

  • TABLE TALK @ Faith Hope Love- Networking opportunity with churches and food pantries in underserved communities.
  • IndyHeartbeat Collaborative  (Indiana University)- Event focused on youth violence prevention.
  • Nonviolence & Community Empowerment Festival hosted by No BOBS (No Black on Black Slayings)
  • 2nd Annual Arts and Music in the Park -mental health and suicide prevention awareness
  • Mathew McGee vigil
  • Out of the Darkness Walk (Suicide Prevention)
  • 2017 Goldsplash - Raise awareness for pediatric cancer
"Thank you for all of your help thus far.  (Child) really enjoyed his time there.  He got in the car and the first words were, “Did you know that every kid in my group had their dad die?”  To most that would seem like a horrible thing to say but in our car it was music to our ears.  He was comforted to know that he was not the only kid living this ride on the crazy train… We look forward to an ongoing relationship with Brooke’s Place… Thank you again for everything.  (Child) loved the folks working his group!"
