FAQs
-
We welcome returning and new volunteers to join us at Camp Healing Tree weekend or our Day Camps each year! If interested, the first step would be to complete a volunteer application. Once an application is received, a Brooke’s Place team member will reach out to review the next steps needed. Volunteer roles that interact directly with campers (e.g., Facilitator and Care Team) will require completion of an in-person Facilitator Training before camp. If you have already completed an in-person Facilitator Training, you will be able to indicate this on your application.
-
There are volunteer roles that work directly with campers and roles that are less direct and support ‘behind-the-scenes’ activities of day camp. Please see the camp volunteer application to learn more about the different volunteer role opportunities and requirements for day camp.
-
Yes, all volunteers will need to complete a criminal history background check before camp.
-
Volunteers interested in day camps must be 16 & older. Volunteers who are under the age of 18 require parent/ guardian consent and waivers. Please see the day camp volunteer application to learn more about the different volunteer role opportunities and requirements.
Attend as a Camper
Brooke’s Place Day Camp is an opportunity for grieving youth ages 7-17 to be with friends their age who have also experienced the death of someone close to them. Connecting with others with shared experiences helps us know that we are not alone in our grief.
