Emily Gage-Alvis, MAMFT

Hello! While I wish the circumstances of our meeting were for different reasons, I am glad you have found your way to Brooke's Place. It is a thriving yet gentle community that will walk with you and your family on your grieving and healing journeys. While having a small private practice for the last 6 years, in 2021 I started as a contract therapist with Brooke's Place. My volunteer experience with this organization led me to become a therapist after being a facilitator with the 3-5 year olds and teens for 5 years. I have always wished our world carved a better space for people when they lose someone dear. I wish we gave adults and children time to honor this significant and life changing happening. Brooke's Place has always aimed to do just that and I plan to offer the same in our therapy sessions. It is hard, hard work to grieve. It will be a privilege to help navigate all the feelings in your family while also honoring the loved one who has died. I graduated from Christian Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2012. I have an undergraduate degree from DePauw University. I am married and enjoy spending time with my kids and my dog. I love to go on adventures, be in the woods, make things, practice yoga, listen to music and plant flowers. I mostly love trying to keep up with what my kids are into!
