Join us for a free 3-hour professional development webcast featuring grief experts Dr. Jamie Eaddy and Doneila L. McIntosh, M.Div., M.A., LAMFT, focusing on the impact family systems have on children and adolescents navigating loss.

Grief is a collective experience that reshapes family dynamics. In this interactive session, we'll delve into the critical role families play in shaping how young people process loss, equipping you with a culturally attuned perspective that highlights the significance of honoring each family’s unique context.

Our Speakers

Doneila L. McIntosh, M.Div., M.A., LAMFT (she/they) is a doctoral candidate in Family Social Science at the University of Minnesota, specializing in Couple and Family Therapy. A former hospice chaplain, her research focuses on grief and loss in African American/Black families after violent death. She received the 2023 ADEC Ron Keith Barrett Multicultural Award and multiple fellowships, including the AAMFT Minority Fellowship and UMN's 2024-25 Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship.

Dr. Jamie Eaddy (she/her) is a public theologian and grief counselor leading Thoughtful Transitions, LLC, and serving as Director of Counseling Services at the Anti-Violence Partnership of Philadelphia. She consults on trauma-informed care, teaches at divinity schools, and advocates for social justice. Featured on The Samantha Bee Show and in the Emmy-winning documentary "A Hope that Lights the Way," Dr. Eaddy brings 20+ years of experience supporting communities through faith, grief, and social change.
