Madison Hershberger, M.Ed, CCLS

Madison joined the Brooke’s Place staff in 2023 as the Volunteer Coordinator. She earned her M.Ed. in Child and Family Studies from Bryan College and her BS in Applied Psychology from the University of Indianapolis. She is a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS). Prior to joining the team in this capacity, she worked as a CCLS at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in the PICU, Burn, and Acute Care units. There she provided patient and family-centered care, education, advocacy, therapeutic play interventions, grief/ bereavement support, and more. She is excited to continue using these skills here at Brooke’s Place, where she was also a volunteer herself from 2019-2021! Madison has a heart for teaching and a passion for serving those who are grieving. Her favorite things about Brooke’s Place are the expression room, the “I wonder” tool, and providing a safe space to allow children to express their grief. In her free time, Madison enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, working on art projects, and spending time with friends and family.
